Linda is an authorised Law Society trainer & CPD Provider. We currently offer three courses specifically designed to assist non planning professionals. Other courses can be tailored to suit individual needs.

1 - Practical Planning Law & Practice for Non-Planning Professionals (5 CPD points)

This course is designed to provide non-planning professionals with a basic understanding of those aspects of planning law that will affect their clients.

This is a 1 day course covering the following areas:

• Control Over Development: The Developer & The Local Planning Authority
• Planning Permission & Planning Policy
• Planning Conditions & S106 Obligations: Purpose & Effect
• Community Infrastructure Levy: Obligations
• Permitted Development (PD) & The Removal of PD by Article 4 Direction
• Lawful Development
• Enforcement
• Listed Buildings: Special Rules, Protection & Offences
• Conservation Areas: Special Rules, Protection & Offences
• Trees: Preservation Orders & Criminal Offence
• Localism Act 2011

2 - A PD Day (5 CPD points)

This course is aimed at all levels & experience. Its objective is to ensure that delegates obtain a clear understanding of PD & how it can affect their clients.

This is a 1 day course covering the following areas:

• The Concept of PD
• Garden Development
• Minor Operations
• Changes of Use Within the UCO
• Temporary Buildings
• Temporary Uses on Open Land
• Caravans on Land
• Agricultural Buildings & Operations

3 - Private Land Matters (5 CPD points)

This unique course is intended to enable delegates to have a greater understanding of matters that can have an effect on the proposed development, sale/purchase of land. This knowledge will also facilitate more effective communication between all parties involved in the sale/purchase & development of land.

This is a 1 day course & covers the following areas:

• Land Ownership
• Boundary Disputes & Trespass
• Certificates A & B
• Trespass
• Covenants, Easements & Rights of Way
• Adverse Possession
• Party Wall Act
• Right to light
• Planning Conditions & S106 Obligations
• Restrictive Covenants                                     

Course Details

• Time: 10:00 - 16:00
• Cost: £225 per delegate
• Group Rates: If you send 4 delegates, the 5th delegate is complementary
• Buffet lunch included

In-House Training

• Times & dates by arrangement
• Fee £995 for up to 12 delegates; £65 for each additional delegate
• Plus 95p per mile travel, plus provision of overnight accomodation where necessary.
